LEAD PRODUCT MANAGER (PM / PO / UX)

DISCLAIMER:

This will be the hardest, most challenging role you have ever held, and also the most rewarding. Only 1 out of 1,000 applicants join the HAQQ engineering and product organization.

About HAQQ

HAQQ is building the AI Operating System for the legal industry, digitizing bar associations, courts, and law firms.

We are regional, profitable, and high-growth, with business performance tripling in the last six months.

We operate with strict data residency, multi-tenant security, and AI-driven workflows across mobile and web.

Role Overview

This is not a budget-constrained hybrid. It is an intentionally cross‑disciplinary, Staff‑level Individual Contributor role designed to deliver elite velocity and coherence across strategy, discovery, design, and delivery.

You will own a high-impact product area end‑to‑end, steward our product standards and design system, and turn complex enterprise requirements into shipped, measurable outcomes across web and mobile.

You will be supported by a dedicated engineering squad, a shared design system, analytics tooling, research ops, and executive access.

As we scale, this role will define the operating model and may split into distinct PM/PO/UX tracks that you help hire and mentor.

Location: Remote First After Induction

Reporting to: VP of Engineering (dotted-line to CEO for product strategy)

Compensation: Top of market; up to 30% above for exceptional candidates

What You Will Own

Strategy and Outcomes (PM)

  • Define the vision, measurable outcomes, and roadmap for your product area (eBar, eFirm, eCourt, or Mobile).
  • Establish success metrics (adoption, retention, revenue, cost-to-serve) and set quarterly bets aligned to company OKRs.
  • Translate market, customer, and compliance constraints into product strategy and sequencing.

Discovery and Specification (PM + UX)

  • Run structured discovery: stakeholder interviews, field research with lawyers and bar staff, and data analysis.
  • Define problem statements, JTBD, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements (security, performance, accessibility).
  • Produce clear PRDs, information architecture, user flows, and interaction specs.

Design and Standards (UX)

  • Lead UX with a mobile-first mindset; deliver wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity specs that align to and evolve our design system.
  • Own on-brand design tokens, components, and patterns; ensure RTL, localization, and accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA).
  • Conduct usability tests, A/B experiments, and design QA; ensure consistency across eBar, eCourt, eFirm, eWallet, and Mobile.

Delivery and Execution (PO)

  • Own the backlog; write high-quality user stories with unambiguous acceptance criteria and edge cases.
  • Plan sprints, manage scope, and accept or reject work; ensure definition of ready/done is enforced.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, QA, DevOps, and AI teams; de-risk dependencies and sequence rollouts safely.

Customer Interface and Customizations (PM/PO)

  • Serve as the primary interface for feature requests and customizations; negotiate scope and tradeoffs with enterprise clients.
  • Convert commercial commitments into buildable, testable increments; maintain change logs and release notes.

Compliance, Security, and Data Residency

  • Bake compliance into specs: multi-tenant isolation, data residency by country, privacy-by-design, and auditability.
  • Ensure telemetry, logging, and analytics are instrumented with clear event taxonomies.

Measurement and Iteration

  • Ship, measure, learn. Report on outcome metrics, funnel analytics, task success, and time-to-value.
  • Drive post-release reviews; prioritize follow-ups; maintain a living roadmap based on evidence.

What Excellence Looks Like (first 6 months)

  • Time-to-spec (request → engineering-ready brief) reduced by 30%+ without quality regressions.
  • Design system coverage ≥ 90% on new UI; legacy pattern deprecation underway with a signed plan.
  • Accessibility and performance budgets met for all shipped surfaces; usability task success ≥ 85% on priority journeys.
  • Outcome metrics move materially (adoption, retention, or cost-to-serve) for at least two released bets.

Qualifications

  • 7–12 years spanning product management and UX, with 3+ years owning discovery and delivery end‑to‑end.
  • Track record as an elite IC delivering complex B2B/B2G SaaS in regulated domains.
  • Mobile depth (iOS/Android) and responsive web; fluent in Material while staying on brand.
  • Figma mastery (variants, auto‑layout, tokens), prototyping, and design QA; literacy in HTML/CSS and modern component frameworks.
  • Tooling: Jira/Linear, Productboard/Notion/Confluence, Amplitude/Mixpanel, feature flags, experiment design. We do not use any of these but familiarity is great for transferring capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal English; crisp specification writing and executive‑level communication. Arabic and RTL experience is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience defining contribution guidelines and enforcing standards across multiple squads.
  • Portfolio with a design system you owned and an enterprise request you converted into a shipped, measurable outcome.
