Security Architect (Onsite – Regina, Saskatchewan)

📍 Location: Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada (100% Onsite)

🕒 Contract: 1 Year (Possible Multi-Year Extension)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to join a large public-sector technology team in Regina, Saskatchewan.

In this role, you’ll lead enterprise-level security architecture initiatives, ensuring that IT systems, applications, and cloud environments are designed and implemented securely. You’ll collaborate with Solution Architects, vendors, and internal teams to align technology decisions with organizational security standards, frameworks, and best practices.

This is a 100% onsite position based in Regina, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on enterprise security modernization and resilience.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and participate in architecture and design reviews, ensuring adherence to organizational security standards.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to define secure integration of endpoint, network, and cloud solutions.
  • Identify and remediate security risks, vulnerabilities, and deficiencies within existing environments.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks for secure IT operations.
  • Guide the design and selection of technology platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Support modernization projects including infrastructure redesign and legacy system retirement.
  • Provide advisory support for security risk management, governance, and compliance initiatives.
  • Contribute to incident and problem management through leadership and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

What We’re Looking For

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Solutions Architecture or IT Design involving enterprise systems and security integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of information security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with DevSecOps automation and security operations.
  • Strong understanding of multiple architecture methodologies (TOGAF, SABSA, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience implementing secure technology solutions across diverse environments.
  • Experience leading IT architecture initiatives through the full lifecycle – strategy, design, implementation, and management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred / Asset Qualifications:

  • Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, SABSA, or equivalent.
  • Formal training in project management.
  • Experience working with public sector or large enterprise organizations.
