Site Description: Niagara Health – Marotta Family Hospital is a state-of-the-art healthcare facility offering advanced, patient-centered care. Opened in 2013, it features specialized services in emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, mental health, and women's and children's health. The hospital is home to the Walker Family Cancer Centre and a Heart Investigation Unit, providing regional access to life-saving treatments.
Position: Security Team Lead
Site: Niagara Health - Marotta Family Hospital, 1200 Fourth Ave, St. Catharines, ON L2S 0A9
Hours: Continental Rotating (0700-1900/1900-0700 hrs)
Payrate: $23.80/hr. - $26.18/hr. "based on levelling system"
Averaging Agreement: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Essential Job Functions
- Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training
- Ensures all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shift
- Ensures site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and site-specific security policies and procedures
- Plans and implements shift work schedules
- Ensures all Security Guards have received the mandatory training
- Motivates staff and issues commendations
- Coach and manage team performance, issuing corrective actions when necessary, and ensure all performance-related documentation is sent to the Client Service Manager
- Attendance Management
- Performs security audits
- Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
- Provide proactive and reactive security patrols.
- Communicates any concerns/issues with Client Service Manager
- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- A Valid Standard First AID CPR C Certificate (From a WSIB Approved Organization)
- Proof of up to date immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step Tuberculosis skin test
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- At least one year of security experience in a team lead role
- Minimum two year of security experience in healthcare environment
- Post-Secondary education in a law enforcement/security program from a recognized college
- Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
