About The Role

Senior Data Analysts at Coalition lead cross-functional analytics that move the business. You will design the measurement strategy for key journeys, build robust data models and dashboards, drive experimentation, and deliver clear recommendations that influence product and revenue leadership. You’ll mentor analysts, set best practices, and raise the bar on data quality, documentation, and insight delivery. Coalition is a remote-first company; many roles can be performed from approved locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute cross-functional analytics projects using advanced SQL and data modeling to uncover actionable insights and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop clear, data-driven recommendations to influence product strategy, improve operational efficiency, and support OKR tracking.
  • Define and maintain core funnel metrics; design and deliver robust, automated reporting and executive-ready dashboards.
  • Analyze and synthesize multiple data sources into compelling narratives with prioritized actions for stakeholders.
  • Partner with data engineering/analytics engineering to build reliable analytical datasets and scalable workflows.
  • Mentor junior team members; model best practices in SQL, data modeling, documentation, and review processes.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in SQL (complex modeling, performance optimization) and code hygiene/documentation.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for analytical workflows, experimentation, and reproducibility.
  • Strong grasp of analytical methods (hypothesis testing, experiment design, interpretation) and business framing.
  • Demonstrated experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) and building dashboards consumed by leadership.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management; demonstrated ability to influence product and revenue decisions.
  • Experience collaborating across product, engineering, and operations; comfortable context switching while maintaining quality.
  • Level calibration aligns with Coalition’s IC framework (P4 typically 6–8+ years relevant experience).

Bonus Points

  • Experience in insurance, insurtech, cybersecurity, or fintech domains.
  • Familiarity with tools common to our environment (Amplitude, Google Analytics, Marketo, Salesforce, Segment, Zuora).
  • Exposure to ETL/analytics engineering (e.g., dbt, Airflow) and/or causal inference methods.
  • Experience using GenAI-assisted IDEs for analysis or coding (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot).
