About the Job:
As a Senior Product Manager within our Product Team, you will lead the Product team in the development and enhancement of OET’s learning and assessment products or services. Your responsibility is to combine deep expertise in product management best practice, insights into global markets and commercial acumen to lead the delivery of OETs solutions. With your innovative mindset, technical curiosity and deep focus on customer outcomes, you will combine these learnings into achieving OET’s strategic objectives through its product offering. With strong leadership ability, a deep understanding of both the product and its target market, you will be the product champion to build and maintain engagement, understanding and excitement with the product vision and approach to product delivery.
As a Senior Product Manager at OET you will:
Product Leadership:
- Manage delivery of product roadmap, including the prioritisation of planned and unplanned initiatives, quantify trade-offs within defined strategic deliverables.
- Use internal stakeholder feedback, market and competitor data to define the product features of initial and future releases.
- Actively collaborate with internal stakeholders in generating, developing and curating ideas for solution improvements, ensuring these are documented and prioritised according to current strategy.
- Creation of business cases and supporting materials to bring new innovations, proposed changes to strategy or new requests for capital to the Portfolio Executive Group (PEG).
- Work collaboratively with Senior Leaders within Product Management to design the product stream vision and strategy and deliver the roadmap.
- Collaborate with the technology team to formulate an effective product delivery plan, communicate this to internal and external stakeholders in appropriate formats, and define the cadence of solution showcases to demonstrate progress.
- Build, operate, review and sustainably manage all products within allocated capital investment budgets, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of current product pricing per market using data on markets, candidature and competitors, and make recommendations for changes to the GM – Product where required.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Marketing and Customer Experience to influence the GTM strategy across all channels.
- Research and adopt the latest technologies, methods and frameworks as endorsed by the GM – Product.
People Leadership:
- Create a high performing, engaged team of direct reports that deliver against all Product Management objectives to a consistently high standard.
- Effectively mentor direct reports throughout the growth of OET to ensure they have the appropriate skill requirements and where training gaps are identified, have a remediation plan in line with role requirements.
- Lead direct reports in goal setting for effective performance, conduct periodical reviews of progress against stated goals throughout the year, and provide comprehensive feedback during final reviews at the end of each year.
Stakeholder Management and Engagement:
- Work closely with OET business units to communicate the approved product strategy and roadmap, ensuring that other Business Units have the information needed to formulate their strategies.
- Act as a product champion to build and maintain engagement, understanding and excitement with the product vision and approach to product delivery.
- Manage communication for a complex stakeholder group to focus on OET customer outcomes.
- Work with external vendors and stakeholders across USA, UK, India and other global sites as required.
What you bring to OET:
We are looking for an experienced professional who has:
- Minimum 3 years as a Senior Product Manager.
- Minimum 3 years as a people leader in a Product Management team.
- B2B, B2C and omnichannel experience.
- Development of end-to-end Product strategies with oversight of execution.
- Proven performance in developing and launching new products in market.
- Proven track record managing AI or ML-driven products — particularly in personalised learning, content recommendation, or assessment automation.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of double-diamond product design methodology.
- Experience with LMS solutions and eCommerce platforms.
Ideally you will also have
- Post graduate qualifications in Education, Assessment or Business.
- Knowledge of language assessment methodology.
- Experience with LLM-based educational tools (e.g., chat tutors, AI marking assistants, or generative content creation).
- Understanding of learning analytics, adaptive testing, and simulation-based education.
- Exposure to global education markets and localisation challenges.
