The purpose of the role is to act as a leader with full people management responsibilities over an HR team comprising of at least one other people manager and individual contributors assigned to support strategic and operations/essential HR work for an area.
Employees at this level work with a high degree of latitude, have expert knowledge, and handle the most complex issues and problems.
This role reports to the Area Director for Temporal Affairs with frequent partnership with Human Resource department and area leaders, workforce and area leaders, area HR teams, headquarter COEs, and Legal Counsel.
Responsibilities
The Area HR Manager directs and leads the following responsibilities:
- Manage and build the capability of an HR team who helps carry out the HR operations of the Area
- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the organization's overall business objectives.
- Lead the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent.
- Oversee a comprehensive performance management strategy to drive organizational excellence.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitive and equitable pay structures.
- Identify and address training and development needs to foster employee growth and organizational capability.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and HR policies.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between management and employees, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.
- Support the organization's strategic goals through the development, engagement, and retention of the workforce.
- Provide strategic insights and decision support to senior management through HR analytics and metrics.
- Develop and implement localized HR policies, procedures, and systems to enhance organizational effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least thirteen years of any combination of related experience or progress towards or completion of a university (post-secondary) degree or an industry-recognized certification.
- At least five years of management experience.
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership capabilities.
- Proven track record of driving HR initiatives that support business goals.
- Expertise in HR metrics and data analysis.
- Proficiency in HR systems and technology.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for extended periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Certification in Human Resources
