3D Graphics Engine Lead Architect | Research / Graphics rendering
Onsite in Tampere or Helsinki, Finland
One of the largest telecommunications companies in the world, a global leader in providing information and communications solutions, is seeking a Lead Architect to drive the future development of a 3D graphics engine.
You'll be the technical backbone, pushing the boundaries of real-time rendering and bringing our vision to life. This is a chance to have a massive impact on a brand-new project and mentor a talented team.
You will play a pivotal role in optimising the core rendering engine for smart devices and open-source platforms.
What you'll do:
- Architect our future: Design and implement next-gen rendering techniques, from real-time ray tracing and global illumination to advanced shading models.
- Optimize everything: Profile and optimize our rendering performance for high frame rates and visual quality across our own OS, Windows, Android, iOS, MacOS, and Linux.
- Innovate and lead: Stay ahead of the curve on new GPU architectures and APIs, leading the charge on implementing cutting-edge tech like AI-driven upscaling.
- Mentor and collaborate: Guide a team of talented engineers and work closely with artists and designers to turn creative ideas into technical solutions.
What you'll bring:
- 10+ years of experience in graphics programming with a proven track record on commercial or in-house engines.
- Expertise in C++, graphics APIs like Vulkan and Metal, and a deep understanding of rendering techniques (TAA, Raytracing, Global Illumination, etc.).
- A solid grasp of 3D geometry, linear algebra, and the physics of rendering.
- A passion for solving complex technical challenges and a knack for mentoring others.
