We are looking for an On-Call Trainee to join our team in the Sustainable Technology Hub, Mechatronics, Analytics and System Integration organization, to work on exciting projects focused on understanding and improving production processes through data. As an On-Call Trainee, you can work up to 25 hours per week. The person who is selected for this role needs to be a full-time student studying for a degree in Finland. The location for this role is in Vaasa, Finland.

What you'll do:

  • Talk with people and learn together: Engage directly with shopfloor operations and people to gain understanding of processes, challenges, and improvement opportunities
  • Understand the flows: Be a member of team when data collection pipelines and analytics are developed focus on understanding in at the grassroots level where data is produced together with shopfloor personal
  • Team working: You can work alongside team members focusing on data close to machines (IIoT) or team members working closely with assembly and material flows
  • Apply technical skills: Use tools such as Databricks and UiPath to process data, automate tasks, and develop solutions for production challenges

What we're looking for:

  • Interest in manufacturing processes and finding ways to solve traditional problems in new way using technology
  • Basic understanding of data analytics, automation and data pipelines. (Databricks, UiPath, or similar)
  • Practical experience in programming and scripting (Python and SQL preferred)
  • Ability to work safely and independently on the shopfloor and proactively seek information
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with diverse teams

When evaluating, we look for curious people willing to learn and do the right things (creating value) over doing things right (extensive technical skills). In this position skills to understand shopfloor are more valuable than deep technical skills. Our learning environment will help you to do things right.

We look for Finnish speakers or have other ways to effectively communicate on shopfloor.
