💼 About the Role

We’re looking for a Staff Mobile Engineer to drive the architecture, performance, and scalability of sunday’s mobile platform. Our app, built with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), powers a fast-growing ecosystem where we need to build, customize, and deploy hundreds of native apps reliably and efficiently.

You’ll act as the technical reference for all things mobile, defining the patterns, tools, and pipelines that make this scale possible. This role is about bringing clarity and coherence to our complexity, ensuring our native app experiences are consistently fast, resilient, and delightful. 🔥 Key Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the architecture of sunday’s Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) app, ensuring it remains modular, testable, and adaptable.
• Design and maintain the build and release pipeline capable of generating, configuring, and shipping hundreds of white-label native apps with minimal human intervention.
• Partner with other engineers to bring production-grade standards to mobile, from automated testing and observability to rollout safety and performance regressions.
• Define and champion mobile engineering best practices, from code structure to dependency management, CI reliability, and testing discipline.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to improve API design, caching, and data synchronization strategies that directly impact app performance.
• Drive mobile performance optimization, including startup time, rendering, network usage, and memory efficiency.
• Build internal tools and automation that simplify developer workflows, shorten feedback loops, and increase team productivity.
• Mentor engineers across squads, review key designs, and help shape the overall mobile technical roadmap and architectural vision.
  
  

😊 About You

• You have deep experience in Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMP) building state-of-the-art mobile applications, with a track record of driving architectural improvements.
• You bring a strong background in mobile CI/CD systems (e.g., Gradle, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise) and release automation.
• You have experience architecting multi-app or white-label mobile platforms.
• You have a solid understanding of mobile performance profiling (Android Studio Profiler, Instruments, LeakCanary) and optimization.
• You are a "force multiplier" with proven experience mentoring and growing engineers, and you love to lead by example.
• You have a high-ownership mindset and a collaborative, team-first approach, and you enjoy pair-programming.
• You thrive in a fast-moving environment, balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural vision.
• You possess excellent communication skills and are capable of partnering cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and product leaders.
