🚀 Senior IT Network & Cybersecurity Specialist – Contract

📍 Location: Dublin City (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

⏳ Duration: 6 months (with potential for 3 x 6-month extensions)

💼 Engagement: Full-time, Monday to Friday (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

About the Opportunity

Harvey Nash is seeking an experienced Senior IT Professional for one of our leading clients in Dublin.

This role will focus on Networking and cybersecurity, working closely with key IT stakeholders to strengthen, modernise, and secure the organisation’s network infrastructure while supporting its ongoing digital transformation towards a cloud-native environment.

What You’ll Do

You will be responsible for designing, securing, and maintaining enterprise-level network systems, improving resilience and visibility, and ensuring robust incident readiness.

Key responsibilities include:

• Harden, standardise, and modernise the WAN, LAN, WLAN, remote access, and perimeter environments.
• Strengthen cybersecurity posture and develop proactive incident response strategies.
• Support Azure cloud integration and digital transformation initiatives.
• Create comprehensive documentation and share knowledge with internal IT teams.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain secure and efficient operations.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a hands-on technical expert with strong experience in network security and administration across enterprise environments.

Essential skills include:

• Proven delivery in multi-site WAN/LAN/WLAN environments with next-gen firewalls and segmentation.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, RADIUS (802.1X), and related protocols.
• Expertise in Cisco routing and switching, wireless (Cisco Meraki), and VPN/remote access platforms.
• Experience with Azure cloud services, Active Directory, and RBAC.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, VMware, and Dell hardware.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree (NFQ Level 8 or higher) in a relevant discipline.
• Certifications such as CCNP, Network+, Security+, or vendor firewall/switching credentials.
