Job Summary:


The Network Administrator plays a pivotal role in supporting our organization’s network infrastructure, acting as the first line of defense in troubleshooting and resolving network issues, providing proactive maintenance, and contribute to network infrastructure projects. This role is vital for underpinning the network infrastructure that fuels our music venues and corporate offices nationwide.


The Network Administrator will possess hands-on network support experience and a broad technical acumen, including proficiency with Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto hardware and software. Tasked with responsibilities such as network troubleshooting, Wi-Fi deployment, subnetting, protocol management, and network hardware asset management, Net+ certification and 3-5 years of applicable experience.


This position focuses on monitoring network performance, crafting custom-length Ethernet cables, triaging network issues at all Presents locations, and escalating complex technical issues and requests to the Network Engineering team. For network upgrades, deployments, and special event support, the Network Administrator will coordinate closely with Project Managers, Network Engineering, and IT Event Managers, ensuring smooth operation and optimal network performance.


Qualifications:

  • An Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent technical expertise.
  • Net+ certification, evidencing solid foundational knowledge of network principles and operations.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on network administration experience, with a focus on Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto systems.
  • Skilled in IP subnetting, VLAN management, and familiar with a wide array of networking protocols, highlighting a versatile understanding of network functionality.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, Fiddler, and PuTTY.
  • Proven capability in network hardware asset management, emphasizing the importance of accurate tracking and management of network devices.
  • A history of productive teamwork and independent problem resolution, showcasing an analytical approach to technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proficiency in documenting and disseminating technical information clearly.
  • An enthusiastic approach to continuous learning, keen to expand technical skill sets under the mentorship of seasoned network professionals.

  • Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) and experience with network security practices.
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting various network devices (switches, routers, APs), including but not limited to Cisco, Meraki, and other manufacturers.
  • Practical knowledge in creating and managing VLANs on routers and network switches, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and implementing basic network security measures.
  • Ability to produce and maintain detailed documentation using tools such as Microsoft Visio or equivalent for network diagrams.
