Core Responsibilities
- Auction Efficiency & Bid Optimization
- Analyze auction performance data (clicks, calls, leads) to uncover inefficiencies, margin leakage, and scaling opportunities
- Develop and monitor quantitative models that guide bidding logic and budget allocation
- Partner with engineering and media teams to implement and refine automated bidding rules
- Performance Analytics
- Own key metrics such as CPA, GP per lead, source hygiene, conversion rate, and payout efficiency
- Build Looker dashboards and SQL views to track media performance at every layer (vendor, campaign, client)
- Provide rapid directional reads and performance alerts to decision-makers
- Data Infrastructure & Quality
- Write and maintain queries against Postgres (and potentially Snowflake/dbt)
- Validate data integrity across ingestion layers (raw_vendor_* → L1 → L2)
- Collaborate with BI and engineering to harden data pipelines and reduce reporting latency
- Experimentation & Modeling
- Design and measure tests to improve ROI (e.g., time-of-day bidding, traffic mix adjustments, disposition-based targeting)
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to predict conversion or margin outcomes
- Delivers fast, accurate reads on campaign performance with minimal supervision
- Finds quantitative levers that drive measurable GP improvement
- Establishes trusted, repeatable reporting pipelines
- Anticipates data issues or auction inefficiencies before they show up in financials
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Math, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.)
- 3–5 years of experience in a data-driven marketing or marketplace environment
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (Postgres preferred); strong data modeling and query optimization skills
- Familiarity with Looker or similar BI platforms
- Comfort working with large datasets, experiment design, and performance metrics
- Bonus: experience with Python, dbt, or bid management platforms
