About

We’re expanding our product portfolio and are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with expertise in Node.js to join our team. In this role, you will help build and scale our cloud service, which provides a marketplace for security solutions and product certification. This is a full-time position with the flexibility to work remotely, hybrid, or in-office from our location in France.

Job Description

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will report directly to the Head of Engineering and be part of an agile, cross-functional team. You’ll take the lead in developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure, APIs, and services that support our platform. Experience with frontend development is a plus, as it will enhance collaboration with our frontend team and ensure a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs to support a highly scalable platform
  • Work with frontend developers to ensure smooth integration and user experience
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional, agile team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Implement robust, secure, and performant solutions in cloud environments

Preferred Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Backend Expertise: Extensive experience in backend development with Node.js, building scalable, cloud-based services
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Strong skills in Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST APIs, and databases (SQL, MySQL, Postgres)
    • Familiarity with backend frameworks, ORMs (e.g., Sequelize), Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
    • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, SES, SNS) and services like Heroku
    • Frontend development experience (React.js, HTML/CSS, responsive design) is a plus
    • Knowledge of agile practices, version control with Git, and testing frameworks like Jest
  • Cybersecurity Awareness: Understanding of security best practices in backend development
  • Ideal Candidate Profile
    • You write clean, maintainable, and well-structured backend code
    • You are a proactive team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
    • Fluent in either French or English, with the ability to communicate effectively in the other language
    • You’re agile and proactive, providing daily updates on progress, challenges, and plans
