Role Description

We’re looking for a Software Developer to join our growing team in Brisbane. This full-time, hybrid role plays a key part in our platform modernisation and migration journey, helping evolve our technology into modern, scalable Java-based microservices that support the next generation of travel tech.

As a Software Developer at Kudos, you’ll:

• Support, maintain, and enhance existing systems while enabling the migration of backend services to Java.
• Design, develop, and implement new backend features using modern frameworks and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance software solutions.
• Contribute to system stability, scalability, and user experience improvements.

You’ll work closely with the Chief Technology Officer, Product Manager, and other developers in an agile environment, bringing ideas to life that directly impact our customers and partners worldwide.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in software development
• Strong Java skills (experience with Spring Boot highly regarded)
• Experience with databases (MSSQL, NoSQL) and version control (Git)
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment

Preferred:

• Experience with ColdFusion and legacy system refactoring
• Familiarity with messaging queues (RabbitMQ) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies
