The Principal Program Officer is responsible for leading a team to manage, monitor and review projects, programs, and systems which directly support the implementation of government priorities and programs across employment and training.
About The Role
As the Principal Program Officer, you will:
- Lead a team to manage, monitor and review projects, programs and systems that align government priorities, fosters collaboration with industry and community stakeholders, and focus on training outcomes linked to employment pathways.
- Develop, implement, and promote best practice in program and events delivery, stakeholder engagement and departmental operations.
- Carry out performance reporting and analysis, including the use of contemporary recording and reporting frameworks to inform strategic decision making, resource management and local planning processes.
- Provide supervision and leadership through mentoring and coaching team members, supporting their professional development, and modelling professionalism, integrity and accountability.
- Represent the department at forums, working groups and committees, while building and maintaining strong networks and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The position requires an applicant who:
- Demonstrates high-level program and project management skills, along with expert knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the vocational education and training (VET) sector in Queensland.
- Applies highly developed conceptual, analytical, research and computer skills, as demonstrated by your ability to analysis information, data and trends; present findings through reports and presentations; and contribution to department objectives.
- Builds and sustains effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure business objectives are achieved and performance targets are met.
- Applies well-developed planning and organisation skills, including the ability to meet expectations and deadlines by delivering results and completing work accurately within set timeframes and accountability frameworks.
- Demonstrates effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills, including the ability to provide independent written and verbal advice to senior officers on diverse issues.
