The Select Group is seeking a Product Designer for a leading financial services client in the Greater Toronto Area. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, documenting, and governing design system components. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, content strategists, accessibility specialists, and developers to enhance and evolve the client’s design system and related documentation. This position follows a hybrid work model and requires some onsite presence in Toronto, Canada.
Product Designer Responsibilities
- Participate in the evolution and maintenance of the design system
- File structure, component governance and builds inside our design system
- Document design patterns in Zeroheight
- Collaborate with designers from different lines of business as well as project teams
- Create interaction pattern specifications and guidelines of use for the design system components
- Conduct reviews, user research, industry research and align to established patterns and standards
- Incorporate accessible design principles
- 3-5 years design experience
- Experience working on design systems, design patterns, and documentation
- Proficiency with tools such as Figma from design to prototyping, especially in component building and setting up templates
- Zeroheight for managing design system documentation
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices, user-centered design, design thinking, and accessible design
- Have a working knowledge of responsive design and understand the technical constraints
- Detail-oriented and strive for pixel perfect design delivery
- Illustration, interaction and motion design skills are a plus
- Have experience with using front end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and collaborating with developers are a plus
