Product Designer (Design System)

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Product Designer specialized in owning design strategy and delivery for Design Systems for a Big 5 Canadian Banking client. The successful candidate will: • Own design strategy and delivery (research, journey mapping, workshops, wireframing, prototyping and testing, pixel-perfect visual design delivery) of our design system components • Support designers across the bank building industry-leading digital experiences • Use a comprehensive understanding of interaction design theory, visual design theory, research and best practices to inform design decisions • Pair and collaborate with other designers by sharing best practices, ideation techniques, and usability principles • Promote and practice open communication and contribute to a transparent and collaborative team culture Have a strong understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) international standard, including WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1, and WCAG 2.2

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years design experience

• Experience working on design systems, design patterns, and documentation

• Prototyping experience

• Excellent proficiency with Figma ○ (including experience with latest design system features in Figma: variables, Booleans, variants, tokens, modes, responsive and interactive components, Dev Mode)

• Strong systems thinker

• Strong working knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices, user-centered design, design thinking, and designing for accessibility

• Strong working knowledge of responsive design and understand the technical constraints

• Great organization and communication skills Detail-oriented and strive for pixel perfect design delivery

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Zeroheight (for documentation)

• Illustration, interaction and motion design skills

• Experience using front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

• Experience integration analytics and/or AI into design systems

• Figma Analytics, Power BI Previous experience in visual design, UI design/development, graphic design
