About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning (ML) Engineer to join our dynamic AI and Data team in Toronto. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, deploying, and managing scalable machine learning models for diverse client projects. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, data architects, software developers, and business leaders to deliver innovative AI solutions that create tangible business value.
Your expertise will contribute to the full lifecycle of ML projects—from ideation and model development to operationalization and ongoing management using best practices in MLOps. This position offers a hybrid work model, providing flexibility to balance remote work with in-office collaboration, and involves engaging in client presentations, project management, and internal initiatives to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in building and automating data analytics and machine learning pipelines
- Strong understanding of machine learning and AI concepts with hands-on experience in model development
- Proficiency in operationalizing ML projects using frameworks/platforms such as Kubeflow, AWS Sagemaker, Google AI Platform, Azure Machine Learning, DataRobot, or MLFlow
- Expertise in Python programming for ML and automation tasks
- Experience with database management and data manipulation using SQL, Oracle, Hadoop, NoSQL databases, or similar tools
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystem tools
- Ability to handle ambiguous data, develop creative analytical approaches, and interpret data from a business perspective
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is an asset
- Project management experience and professional services or consulting background are advantageous
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning models in production environments
- Implement and manage MLOps pipelines to ensure reliable and efficient model operations
- Collaborate with data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Engage in client proposals, pitches, and project management activities to support project delivery
- Contribute to continuous improvement of ML workflows, tools, and best practices
- Assist in internal initiatives aimed at advancing AI capabilities within the organization
- Participate in knowledge sharing, mentoring, and training activities to foster a culture of innovation and learning
- Stay updated with the latest developments in AI/ML technologies and industry trends
- Competitive salary range of $72,000 to $138,000, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses
