Job Title: Network Administrator – Project Lead (8493)
Work Location: 100% Onsite, Cayce, SC (with statewide travel)
Duration: 12 Months
Possibility of Extension: Yes

Primary Responsibilities
- Support and maintain DPH’s enterprise network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate issues related to agency wireless networks.
- Manage and maintain CISCO and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Support wireless and network connectivity for Windows, Mac, and mobile devices.
- Assist with CISCO Identity Services Engine (ISE) device registration.
- Conduct onsite wireless assessments and create wireless heatmaps using Ekahau Sidekick.
- Perform enterprise wireless network deployments, installations, and upgrades.
- Carry out firmware/software/security updates and network maintenance.
- Respond to and resolve tickets in the agency’s ticketing system.
- Provide first and second-tier network and wireless connectivity support.
- Assist in equipment installation, relocation, and configuration (PCs, monitors, etc.).
- Adhere to DPH and State IT security policies and standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and network diagrams.
- Coordinate closely with Network, Security, and Server teams for issue resolution.
- Provide progress updates and deliverable reports to management and project teams.
- Travel to DPH sites across South Carolina as needed (typically one day per week, <100 miles).
- Perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in Network Administration with CISCO and Palo Alto Firewalls.
- 3+ years of experience with CISCO Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- 3+ years of experience with LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure.
- 3+ years of experience using a ticketing or helpdesk system.
- Strong understanding of computer and network fundamentals.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license (required for travel between DPH sites).
- Physically able to climb ladders and lift/move IT equipment as part of daily duties.
Preferred Skills
- Network certifications (CCNA, Network+, etc.)
- Experience with SolarWinds Orion monitoring tools.
- Experience using Ekahau Sidekick for wireless assessment and analysis.
Education
- Associate’s Degree in a relevant field or High School Diploma with equivalent work experience.
Additional Information
- Candidate must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate to SC before starting.
- Must complete agency-required HIPAA and confidentiality training upon onboarding.
- Position requires flexibility for occasional extended travel days.
