We are now looking for a
SOFTWARE DEVELOPER
to join our talented Payment Solutions Team!
Our environment is start-up like, dynamic and development-oriented and we work closely with Product Owners and other business stakeholders. We also have cross-product co-operation with other software development teams such as Mobile App, finnair.com and Inflight entertainment and connectivity team.
The team is part of Commerce and CX Solutions unit, a growing unit of 80+ people, who own and are fully responsible for developing Finnair’s digital platform and our digital customer experience.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, For Example
We are not expecting prior expertise in the payments area, you will be provided training and support from the team.
Ways Of Working
We are a dynamic and development-oriented cross-functional team following agile ways of working.
In our team every developer does everything: we mainly focus on development, but support tasks are also part of the work. We help other teams with our payment expertise and help our customer care understand payment-related issues.
Our technical stack is mostly microservices running in TypeScript on Lambdas in AWS, but we also have more long running Java applications running on Fargate. Our frontend is written in React. We use Python for our data. We use Playwright with TypeScript to write automated UI tests.
We enable remote work, but it is expected that you can come to the office once or twice a week.

- Developing and maintaining internal tools and services related to payment processing and financial data flows.
- Developing and maintaining the customer facing payment page. Payment as a service for other teams at Finnair.
- Supporting the integration of payment APIs and third-party services.
- Assisting in the automation of reconciliation and settlement processes.
- Participating in code reviews, testing, and documentation of software components.
- Collaborating with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of development practices and tools.
- Helping other internal teams integrate with payments.
- Genuine interest towards aviation industry and making an impact on our digital customer experience.
- Experience with TypeScript and cloud development.
- Ability to work across the stack, handling both frontend and backend tasks.
- A problem-solving mindset and a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Prior experience with Java or Python is not required, but a willingness to learn and grow with these technologies is expected.
