Junior Artificial Intelligence Engineer

DATAJURIS, Direito e Informática is a company founded in 1989, based in Coimbra, dedicated to designing and updating legal databases, as well as making these services available online. With a special focus on the professionals who deal with the law on a daily basis, Datajuris' clients include private individuals and companies (lawyers and businesses), as well as public organisations (central, regional and local government, as well as public services).
Recently, Datajuris was approved for a Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) project under the PT2030 programme. This project, carried out in consortium with other organisations, has the collaboration of the Pedro Nunes Institute, through its Laboratory for Informatics and Systems (IPN Lis), among other partners.
In the context of this project, Datajuris is looking to integrate a Junior Artificial Intelligence Engineer into its team, who will be hired exclusively by Datajuris.
The candidate will work as part of the Datajuris team and will actively participate in the development of innovative solutions within the scope of the project. In addition, he/she will be able to collaborate occasionally with the IPN Lis team, which will also be allocated to this project, ensuring an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach.
About the Role:
Datajuris is looking for a motivated and talented Junior Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals who want to develop their skills in AI, particularly in large language models (LLMs).
What You’ll Be Doing:
· Supporting the development and implementation of AI solutions, with an emphasis on LLMs
· Contributing to research and experimentation with new language models and algorithms
· Collaborating with development teams to integrate AI solutions into the company’s projects
· Conducting data analysis and preparing reports with insights to support decision-making
· Participating in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical knowledge
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
- Basic knowledge of machine learning and learning frameworks
- Interest in natural language processing (NLP) and large language models
- Programming skills in Python or another relevant language
- Ability to work collaboratively and a willingness to learn and grow in the field
- Good communication, written and problem-solving skills
- Based in Coimbra or other nearby locations
· Fluency in written and spoken English and Portuguese

However, the candidate will be hired exclusively by Datajuris and will work as part of its team, being able to collaborate with IPN Lis within the scope of the project.
