Job Title: Junior Machine Learning Engineer (LLM Applications)

Location: Netherlands

Employment Type: Full-time

About Us

InoGen AI is building the next generation of AI-powered [products/services - e.g., productivity tools, customer support systems, data assistants, etc.]. We specialize in developing applications that harness the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) to make complex tasks simpler, faster, and more human.

We’re looking for a Junior Machine Learning Engineer who’s excited about working with state-of-the-art language models and eager to learn how to design, fine-tune, and deploy them in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and optimizing LLM-based applications (e.g., chatbots, summarization tools, text generation systems).

• Work on prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluating LLM performance for specific business use cases.

• Help with data preparation, including text preprocessing, labelling, and cleaning datasets for training and evaluation.

• Support the integration of LLMs into production systems through APIs and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).

• Contribute to experimentation pipelines, A/B testing, and model performance tracking.

• Collaborate with senior ML engineers and product teams to design scalable, ethical, and user-friendly AI features.

• Stay up to date on the rapidly evolving LLM ecosystem, including open-source models, benchmarks, and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Linguistics with programming focus, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, especially in natural language processing (NLP).

• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML/NLP frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, or OpenAI SDKs.

• Basic knowledge of vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Chroma) and embedding models.

• Familiarity with APIs, REST, and basic software engineering best practices (Git, CI/CD, etc.).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack).

• Experience fine-tuning or evaluating open-source LLMs (e.g., Llama, Mistral, Falcon).

• Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.

• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker).

• Previous internship, coursework, or personal projects involving LLMs, NLP, or AI applications.

What We Offer

• An opportunity to work on cutting-edge LLM technologies from day one.

• Mentorship from experienced AI/ML engineers and research scientists.

• A collaborative, learning-driven environment that encourages experimentation.

• Competitive salary and benefits package.

• Flexible, hybrid, or remote work arrangements.
