The Position
Become our Medical Value and Access Partner for Slovenia and Croatia!
At Roche Diagnostics, we are on a mission to do now what patients need next. We are seeking a visionary Medical Value and Access Partner to join our transformed team and drive a fundamental shift in the Adriatic healthcare system—from reactive treatment to proactive, prevention-first care.
This is not a traditional medical affairs role. You will be a strategic architect, a coalition builder, and a catalyst for change, working at the intersection of clinical science, health economics, and public policy.
Location: You can be based in Slovenia or Croatia (Office-based role with working time in the field)
Job Facts
The role requires scientific and medical expertise, coupled with a strong strategic mindset and influencing skills to identify and address the relevant needs of clinical practice, health policy and market access.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Accelerate Impact Today: Drive Adoption of High-Value Diagnostics
- Drive Clinical Practice Change: Actively engage with clinical societies and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to embed our high-value diagnostics into the latest evidence-based clinical guidelines, ensuring they become the non-negotiable standard of care
- Generate Powerful Local Evidence: Partner with academic bodies and healthcare institutions to design and support local studies that quantify the clinical and economic benefits of our diagnostics, creating compelling value stories for payers and C-suite stakeholders
- Empower Commercial Teams: Serve as the primary medical resource on our portfolio, enabling commercial success through deep scientific education and strategic insights
- Build Influential Coalitions: Convene and lead cross-sector alliances of KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and public health institutes (e.g., NIJZ, HZJZ) to create unified advocacy for early detection
- Co-create National Programs: Proactively identify opportunities and support the implementation of diagnostics-led pilot programs in priority areas like oncology, cardiovascular-metabolic and neurology, with the goal of securing clear, long-term funding pathways
- Evaluate Unmet Needs: Analyze patient pathways and identify critical evidence gaps to position Roche as the leader in preparing the ecosystem for transformative innovations like blood-based biomarkers
- Contribute to the execution of key policy initiatives outlined in our strategy, helping to advance policy asks that mandate screening strategy updates and secure public funding
- Display integrity in everything (i.e. open, honest, ethical and genuine)
- Bring a contagious energy and a passion for improving patient outcomes that inspires and motivates your colleagues
- Are committed to cross-functional collaboration and building powerful, cross-functional alliances that deliver shared goals
- Have the ability to navigate within a changing organization, maintaining objectivity, respect for differences of opinion, fairness, open communication, and consensus building skills
- Have a strong entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding partnering capabilities (coaching, consulting, listening deeply, questioning, and understanding)
- Have a growth mindset, able to learn and unlearn quickly, take risks and experiment, and contribute to the learning cycle by sharing knowledge with others inside and outside Roche
We are looking for candidates who enjoy shaping the future and do not leave things to chance, who embrace complex challenges in the medical environment and handle them with a pioneering spirit and the courage to change the status quo.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
- A university degree in medicine, pharmacy, or another life science field
- Proven experience in the pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or healthcare industry, ideally in a medical affairs, market access, or health policy role
- A deep, strategic understanding of the Slovenian and Croatian healthcare systems, including their structures and funding pathways
- A natural ability to build influential relationships, think critically, and drive complex projects from concept to completion
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, Slovenian and Croatian
Are you ready to apply? We want someone who thinks beyond the job offered - someone who knows that this position can be a unique opportunity to shape the future of Diagnostics.
