📅 Contract: 5 months (extension possible)

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a high-performance development team within the banking domain. You will play a key role in full E2E delivery — from design & development to deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement after go-live.

This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, requiring strong communication and customer-facing capabilities.

✅ Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java-based microservices with high performance and reliability
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Manage end-to-end software lifecycle including post-deployment maintenance
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, provide accurate estimates, and deliver sprint commitments
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality engineering practices
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a large enterprise environment
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across multiple environments
  • Contribute to solution design and continuous delivery improvements

✅ Must-Have Skills

  • 10+ years experience in Java development (Java 8+ required)
  • Strong in Spring Boot, Microservices, REST/SOAP Web Services
  • Hands-on CI/CD with Azure DevOps & Git
  • Experience with: Maven, Jenkins, Docker, IntelliJ/Eclipse
  • Strong analytical skills and structured approach to problem-solving
  • Proven experience in Banking / Financial services
  • Agile delivery experience (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong stakeholder and customer-facing communication

  • Experience working in highly regulated environments
  • Ability to work both independently and within large corporate structures

🔐 Mandatory Compliance

Candidates must meet all requirements below:

  • ✅ At least 10 consecutive years residency in the Netherlands
  • ✅ Valid Dutch passport
  • ✅ Active VGB security clearance
    • Or clear willingness and eligibility to obtain it
🧩 Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid – 1 day onsite in Amsterdam, remainder remote
