The Role:

Technical Product Manager – Release Engineering and play a pivotal role in enabling our commercial digital products to be released confidently and continuously. You’ll work at the intersection of DevOps, CI/CD, platform automation, and developer experience, helping teams deliver high-quality software efficiently and securely.

Area of Responsibility

1. Define and lead the Release Engineering roadmap, aligning with Volvo’s digital platform strategy and commercial digital objectives.
2. Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, release orchestration, and automation tooling across diverse tech stacks.
3. Establish and promote standards, templates, and best practices for secure and compliant software delivery.
4. Partner with Developer Experience (DevExp) teams to expand Golden Path templates for scalable and consistent project onboarding.
5. Drive initiatives in release automation, deployment safety (e.g., canary releases, rollback strategies, feature flagging), and metrics visibility.
6. Define and track key release and delivery KPIs such as DORA metrics, build performance, and regression trends to improve delivery efficiency.
7. Act as a subject matter expert, supporting product teams in optimizing pipelines and resolving complex release challenges.
8. Foster a culture of automation, continuous improvement, and developer empowerment across all delivery teams.

Knowledge / Experience

Must-Have:

• 5+ years of experience in technical product management, DevOps, or release engineering within large-scale software environments.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and deployment strategies.
• Strong knowledge of tools such as GitHub Advanced Security, Docker, container registries, and cloud-native platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, ECP/Bakery).
• Solid understanding of software delivery metrics (DORA) and data-driven process improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
• A collaborative mindset focused on scalability, developer enablement, and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with feature flagging, A/B testing, or experimentation platforms.
• Background in platform or infrastructure engineering.
