Reporting to the Project Manager, we are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to coordinate the scheduling of tasks, deadlines, and milestones as well as facilitate communication between field construction staff and design engineers on High Voltage Substation projects for major utility companies as well as Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects for renewable energy developers. The position also provides critical reviews of drawings and provides valuable input on engineering matters to Construction Managers and Supervisors for assigned projects across Southern and Eastern Ontario.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinate staff and resources with Site Supervisors, Construction Managers or Project Managers
- Project Planning activities within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards
- Schedule tasks, deadlines and milestones for clients, stakeholders and resources
- Assist with managing projects on a day-to-day basis including preparing and forwarding project updates and reports to the Project Manager
- Coordinate communication between staff and 3rd parties
- Liaise between field construction staff and office personnel
- Review and interpret drawings and provide input on engineering issues
- Provide technical engineering expertise on calculations and reporting
- Track and report project information by communicating project data in different formats (i.e. Reports, Presentations, Visio diagrams)
- Support scheduling, accounting, cost & document control, procurement, project filing & communication with all parties
- Interface with construction management teams to establish workflows
- Create procedures and reporting for site management
- Collect and provide all the necessary documents and information for site management
- Create, maintain & improve project processes
- Create & maintain data systems for inventory
- Assist with technical and administrative needs as required
- Support the Quality Department with technical engineering support when needed
- Post-Secondary education in a related field (i.e. Engineering, Commerce, Construction Management)
- 3 years of Construction Coordination experience
- Demonstrated understanding of construction drawings, specifications and project schedules
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 Scheduling and JD Edwards (or other PM tools)
- Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or working towards certification
- Linear construction experience
