Backend Developer

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to design and develop internal enterprise applications that power our finance and operational systems. You will play a key role in building reliable, scalable, and secure backend services that support critical business processes, including financial reporting, reconciliation, and data integration across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for internal systems such as finance, accounting, and operations platforms.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and IT teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Integrate various internal and third-party systems to ensure seamless data flow and process automation.
• Optimise existing backend architectures for reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Implement best practices for data integrity, access control, and compliance (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
• Develop and maintain documentation for system design, workflows, and integration interfaces.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system issues to ensure uptime and operational continuity.
• Contribute to code reviews, architecture discussions, and process improvements within the internal systems team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of backend development experience, ideally with exposure to enterprise or internal system development.
• Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Experience in building and integrating APIs, microservices, or middleware for enterprise systems.
• Solid understanding of database design and optimisation (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required for communication with stakeholders and counterparts from China.
