Software Engineering Manager, Storage

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with storage technologies and managing a team that build and operates systems.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and building a roadmap of launches/improvements with the ability to provide quality experience to enterprise customers.
• Experience in managing a portfolio of concurrent engineering feature launches with the ability to work with specialists on system designs.
• Ability to understand and guide work within codebases and set technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers responsible for delivering client experience for Google Cloud Storage and enabling Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) workloads for customers.
• Hire, develop, and retain team of software engineers.
• Empower the team to take ownership and deliver results.
• Partner with stakeholders and technical leads to define and execute the technical strategy for Storage.
• Guide the team through architectural decisions and ensure code quality are maintained through design and code review processes.
