Secretlab is an international gaming chair brand seating over three million users worldwide, with our key markets in the United States, Europe and Singapore, where we are headquartered.
We're seeking a highly organized and technically-minded Project Manager to optimize workflows and synchronize efforts between our UI/UX Design and Development teams within the web department of our e-commerce brand. This isn't a Product Manager role; you'll focus on the how and when of project execution, ensuring seamless collaboration and timely delivery of web initiatives. You will be instrumental in managing project timelines, resource allocation, and communication channels to support product launches, sales campaigns, new feature development, optimization efforts, and revamp projects.
You will play a crucial supporting role to our UI/UX and Development team leads, who are deeply engaged in hands-on work and direct stakeholder communication. Your ability to understand web processes and your experience in a technical environment will be key to your success in bridging the gap between planning and execution.
Responsibilities
- Timeline Management & Synchronization: Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project timelines for all web initiatives, ensuring alignment between UI/UX design and development phases. Proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts to ensure smooth transitions between teams.
- Workflow Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the current design and development workflows. Propose and implement solutions to streamline processes, improve team velocity, and enhance overall project delivery.
- Traffic Control & Initial Communications: Manage the intake of new project requests from external teams and stakeholders. Facilitate initial communication, gather essential requirements, and assist in prioritizing these requests in collaboration with team leads.
- Resource Allocation Support: Work closely with UI/UX and Development leads to understand team capacity and assist in allocating resources effectively across various projects, ensuring equitable distribution of workload.
- Meeting Facilitation: Organize and lead regular sync-up meetings between the UI/UX and Development teams, ensuring clear communication of progress, dependencies, and potential roadblocks. Document key decisions and action items.
- Dependency Management: Proactively identify and track inter-team and external dependencies, working to mitigate risks and ensure that all prerequisites for project progression are met.
- Progress Tracking & Reporting: Monitor project progress against established timelines, identify deviations, and provide regular updates to team leads and the Web Department Head (Product Manager).
- Documentation: Maintain clear and concise project documentation, including project plans, schedules, meeting notes, and communication logs.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate existing project management methodologies and tools, suggesting and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support for Team Leads: Act as a critical support system for the UI/UX and Development leads, allowing them to focus on their core technical responsibilities and direct stakeholder engagement.
What You Won't Be Doing (and Why)
- Being a Communication Middleman: This role is not about funneling all team-level communications. Our technical experts (designers and developers) will continue to directly communicate rationales and explain their work to stakeholders. Your role is to facilitate, not mediate, these interactions, especially for initial traffic control and timeline management.
- Defining Product Strategy: While you'll manage the projects that bring product strategy to life, you will not be responsible for defining the product roadmap, features, or overall product vision. That responsibility lies with the Web Department Head (Product Manager).
- Hands-on Design or Development: This is a project management role, not a design or development position. While a technical background is crucial for understanding the work, you will not be directly involved in creating UI designs or writing code.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management within a web or software development environment, preferably in an e-commerce setting.
- Proven experience working in a technical role previously (e.g., developer, QA, technical support) with a strong understanding of web development processes, technologies, and the UI/UX design lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello, Monday.com).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
Bonuses
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
