UI/UX Designer

(Contract – Per Project)

Paid per Project | Hybrid (Southern California Only)

About Us

At Naked Development, we design and build innovative mobile apps for founders with bold ideas. From wireframes to polished prototypes, we deliver experiences that are intuitive, user-centered, and ready for development. We’re seeking a skilled contract UI/UX Designer to help shape the early product vision for a variety of exciting app startups.

Role Overview

This is a contract role, paid per project, with each project lasting approximately 4–6 weeks. You’ll be responsible for delivering full design documentation, including user flows, wireframes, mood boards, and prototype-ready assets.

The role is hybrid, and candidates must be located in Southern California. Occasional on-site attendance for internal or client meetings in Irvine is required. Availability during standard Pacific Time (PST) business hours is essential.

Successful contractors may also be offered ongoing hourly work after the initial engagement.

What You’ll Do

  • Participate in discovery sessions to define the product vision, audience, and key features
  • Create user personas, outline MVP feature sets, and prioritize functionality
  • Design wireframes and user flows in Figma, following our established design systems
  • Build mood boards and direct early visual concept exploration
  • Collaborate with our team and external partners (e.g., 99designs) on UI development
  • Attend internal reviews and client-facing design meetings as needed
  • Prepare final design documentation, clickable prototypes, and dev handoff assets

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of UI/UX experience, preferably in mobile app or consumer product design
  • Strong portfolio showcasing wireframes, app flows, and interface work
  • Proficiency in Figma and collaborative file organization
  • Experience collaborating with a lead designer and contributing to shared design systems
  • Proactive approach to workflows, with a willingness to iterate based on internal and client feedback
  • Confidence in presenting work and speaking to design decisions during weekly client-facing meetings
  • Strong sense of accountability when it comes to meeting deliverables and staying on track with project timelines
  • Ability to manage timelines and deliverables with minimal oversight
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal teams and clients
  • Must be located in Southern California and available for onsite meetings
  • Comfortable working during PST business hours
