The role

Role

As a Software Developer, you’ll take part in crafting realistic ophthalmic surgery simulations. Collaborating with a talented, distributed team, you’ll play a key role in:

  • Designing new training content using 3D models of anatomical structures and surgical tools.
  • Enhancing visual effects and developing real-time 3D training guides.
  • Boosting the visual realism of simulations to elevate the training experience.
  • Maintaining and expanding a growing codebase that drives our simulator; the focus will be on complex Python code which ties into C++, OpenGL & GLSL

To Succeed In This Role, We Think You Have

  • 2+ years of experience in a scripting language (preferably Python) and solid C++ knowledge.
  • A foundational understanding of 3D Graphics: Solid knowledge of 3D graphics concepts and technologies, including a strong grasp of linear algebra (vectors, matrices, and transformations).
  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent.
  • A professional level of English.

It is beneficial (but not a must) if you also have any of the following:

  • Experience with a commercial game engine (e.g. Unity, Unreal engine, etc.)
  • Experience in project management software and version control systems, like Jira and Git.
  • Are comfortable working with technical requirements, performing code reviews, and regression tests to release staging.
  • Knowledge of CMake, test procedures, and continuous integration
  • Knowledge of OpenGL and GLSL is beneficial.
