The Role:
We're looking for a talented Electronics and Embedded Engineer to join our team in London. You'll play a key role in the design, development, and testing of next-generation spatial audio hardware systems. Working within a small, highly skilled R&D team, you'll collaborate closely with software engineers, sound designers, and product specialists to bring innovative products from concept to production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for audio processing and control systems
- Contribute to schematic capture, PCB design, and prototype assembly
- Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for real-time DSP, network, and control applications
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate embedded systems with software and hardware platforms
- Support the full product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through to production and field deployment
- Conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, and performance optimization
- Liaise with manufacturing partners to ensure design-for-manufacture (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) requirements are met
- Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to audio, embedded systems, and networking
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong experience in embedded systems design using C/C++
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g. Altium, KiCad)
- Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M or similar microcontroller architectures
- Embedded Linux experience
- Understanding of digital and analog audio circuit design
- Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet and USB
- Proficient in debugging hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and other lab tools
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a small, multidisciplinary team
- Experience with real-time audio DSP or audio networking (e.g. Dante, AVB, AES67)
- Knowledge of FPGA design (e.g. Verilog/VHDL)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for production
- 68000 Assembly language experience
- Passion for audio, music technology, or live sound applications
