They are seeking a talented and experienced Power BI Developer to join their dynamic team. As a senior BI Analyst, you will be providing professional leadership and expertise in data reporting, dashboard and analysis capabilities.
Your new role
As a BI Consultant, duties will include but are not limited to:
- Undertake and lead development of complex reports, dashboard or analysis where practicable, repeatable and automated analysis of data from internal or relevant external sources.
- Participate on strategic projects, both internally and externally, including leading the analytical requirements as a technical expert on project teams, committees, working groups and other forums.
- Create, often self-initiated, better processes, implement and maintain robust models which are validated, well maintained and documented for industry best practice.
- Research, develop, design, and operationalise continual improvement initiatives.
- Develop business insights, through advanced analysis (including modelling, statistical, algorithmic, data mining, visualization techniques, etc.), to better understand the business, our patients and clinical operations.
- Lead the delivery of self-service dashboard, application creation and scheduled reporting, including managing the user acceptance testing, product release and maintenance as required.
- Support Information Management program through collaborating on data quality and reference data projects, providing analysis, design, development, evaluation and deployment of business analytics and statistical modelling.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to identify and document operational problems and underlying issues, identifying possible cause and effect relationships.
- Adhere to quality assurance processes ensuring appropriate quality of all reports and analyses.
- Predict and deliver on requests for reporting and dashboards, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of products and alignment to privacy, security and other regulatory / compliance policies. Provide technical expertise and advice on data requirements and information.
- Lead specific areas of project work that aim to provide reporting and BI solutions to meet organisation analytical and insight needs, including embedding analytical methods in organisational reports and dashboards.
- Serve as a senior customer contact point for data analysis requirements, and foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure data analysis, and insight needs, are being met
What you'll need to succeed
This position would suit an applicant who has demonstrated BI skills, a high degree of initiative and problem solving and the ability to self-manage. Good communication and time management skills, a can-do attitude and experience establishing strong working relationships are essential.
- Experience in data warehouse, business intelligence implementation and deployment of organisation wide reports and dashboards
- Experience in leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and product release management.
- Experienced in scoping projects and ability to translate user stories into analysis tasks
- Experience in distilling complex analysis into meaningful narratives and visualisations for senior management
- Experience working with, and analysis of, very large and complex data sets
- Highly skilled in one or more business intelligence, data and analysis technical specialties (Power BI, SQL, Python, R, Oracle OBIEE, ETL, RPD) including demonstrated application in a business setting
- High-level expertise in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, Power Query, and dashboard development.
- Experience working in complex environments such as healthcare, emergency services, or government sectors is highly desirable
