React Developer

I’m helping VolvNow find a top candidate to join their team part-time for the role of React Developer.

You'll drive core features for a growing CRM analytics platform.

• You are proficient in Vite, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Slack, React 18.
• You are a novice in Zustand, Redux, MobX, Application Programming Interface (API).

About the Role

We're a small CRM analytics startup onboarding our first customer in the next 31 days. We need a self-sufficient React developer who can work independently in our async-first culture.

This is NOT a hand-holding role. You'll get comprehensive documentation (1000+ lines), direct CTO mentorship on architecture, but you must be able to read docs and solve problems without constant supervision.

Tech Stack You'll Use Daily

Frontend:

* React 18 (hooks, functional components)

* TypeScript (type-safe components)

* Vite (build tool - NOT Create React App)

* TanStack React Query (we'll train you if you know Redux/Zustand instead)

* Tailwind CSS

Tools:

* Git + GitHub

* Linear (issue tracking)

* Slack (async communication)

* Claude CLI (AI development assistant)

You're a Great Fit If You:

* 2–4 years production React experience (can show live projects/GitHub).

* TypeScript proficiency (not "I've read about it" – actual production use).

* Shipped features with state management (Redux, Zustand, MobX, Context API, or React Query).

* Self-sufficient problem solver (Google first, ask questions second).

* Comfortable with async work (Slack/Linear, not daily Zoom calls).

* Know terminal basics (npm install, Git commands without help).

* Located in Americas (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, etc.).

* Committed to 30hr/week for next 6+ months (not juggling 10 clients).

You're NOT a Fit If:

* Need daily video calls or constant check-ins.

* Claim "5+ years React" but can't explain hooks vs class components.

* Located outside Americas (timezone makes collaboration impossible).

* Can't commit consistent 20 hours weekly.

* Need extensive mentorship on React basics.

Dashboard platform that processes CRM data. Your work:

* Data tables with complex filtering/sorting.

* Real-time metrics calculations.

* Report visualizations.

* API integrations.

Real production app, real customers, real impact.

Hiring Process (Fast – 2 Week Timeline)

2. Technical Screen (30 min): Video call + live debugging exercise.

* We'll send you broken React code, you explain the fix.

* No whiteboard algorithms, just real React problems.

3. Paid Trial Project ($50 for 2 hours).

What to include:

* GitHub profile (REQUIRED – we need to see your code).

* 1–2 live project links (portfolio sites, production apps you built).

* Brief explanation (2–3 sentences): "Why are you looking for part-time work? Why interested in this role?"
