You’ll join a major AI transformation programme within a global retail organisation focused on building a next-generation demand forecasting and customer personalisation. The project aims to replace static, rule-based forecasting with a machine learning-driven system capable of predicting demand across multiple locations
Role overview
We’re seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development, deployment, and monitoring of this end-to-end forecasting solution on GCP. You’ll collaborate with data engineers, cloud architects, and business analysts to design a robust ML pipeline capable of scaling to multi-terabyte retail datasets and integrating seamlessly with downstream planning systems.
Skills & Responsibilities
- 4+ years’ experience in Data Science or ML Engineering (in retail, FMCG, or logistics is a bonus).
- Build and productionise forecasting models that combine historical sales, customer personalisation, weather, promotions, pricing, and supply-chain variables.
- Proven experience delivering demand forecasting or predictive analytics projects.
- Proficient in Python, SQL, PySpark, CI/CD, GCP
- Strong statistical and ML background (time-series forecasting, regression, feature engineering).
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
