It also partners with government departments to implement state-backed financial instruments that drive economic growth, innovation, and resilience.

The Opportunity

As it enters a new phase of strategic development, the SBCI seeks to appoint a visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead its next chapter. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will shape and deliver the SBCI’s strategy, strengthen relationships across the SME finance ecosystem, and ensure the organisation continues to meet evolving market and policy needs.

The Individual

SBCI are seeking a senior executive who has demonstrated strong, effective leadership ideally at Director or C-suite level. Candidates should have deep understanding of SME finance, public policy and proven ability to represent the SBCI publicly, promoting its role effectively. The ideal candidate will have a consistent track record in building partnerships with finance providers, government departments and EU institutions. They must be an inspiring leader, able to lead high calibre teams to success and have exceptional stakeholder engagement capabilities.
