John Arild Amdahl Johansen, our CISO leads the team with two primary areas of focus; InfoSec and CloudSec. Our teams develop and maintain a secure environment that protects our systems, data, and users. They own the security within reMarkable.

Your responsibilities as a Security Advisor may include:

• Being part of shaping our network strategy and implementing concepts like zero-trust networks.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on network security technologies and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), cloud Network (VPC, SDN, VNFs, load balancer etc.) and network micro-segmentation.
• Work closely with our engineering and architecture teams to design and implement secure infrastructure and systems, e.g. SIEM.
• Execute threat modeling, attack surface analysis, and risk assessments to ensure proactive security measures are in place.
• Provide cybersecurity guidance and advisory services across various security domains (e.g. cloud security, identity management, application security) both internally and with stakeholders.

As our Security Advisor, you will be important to building standard security blueprints for reMarkable, ensuring secure-by-design principles. You will be responsible for owning and implementing network security stack and be key to reaching our goal towards ISO27001 certification.

We are looking for someone with:

• Hands-on experience in IT and network operational security.
• Understanding of cloud computing and modern network architectures (OSI layers).
• Experience working with network security tools and implementing zero-trust network segmentation on major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with security design and architecture for systems and applications.
