Job Description
A Network Administrator is a critical member of any IT team, responsible for managing and maintaining the computer networks that are essential to the operations of businesses and organizations. This role ensures that an organization's computer network performs reliably and efficiently, enabling seamless communication and data sharing among employees and departments. Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain computer networks to ensure optimal performance.
- Configure and install network hardware, such as routers and switches.
- Manage network permissions and users, ensuring secure access to resources.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Implement network security protocols to protect organizational data from threats.
- Maintain and update network documentation, including procedures and infrastructure maps.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and system enhancements as needed.
- Offer technical support and training on network systems to staff members.
- Collaborate with IT teams to develop disaster recovery plans and strategies.
- Monitor network performance and provide reports on network usage and status.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role in IT.
- Strong knowledge of network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in network management and monitoring tools and software.
- Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teams.
