Frostbite is EA’s proprietary game engine that comes equipped with tons of tools and technologies designed to build incredible games. Our in-house engine offers the unique ability to cater to to each game while working hand-in-hand to prioritize what to build.
What does a Technical Designer do?
As a Technical Designer on the Frostbite development team, you will report to the Technical Art Director and you will work with the engineering team to ensure that features and workflows are built with a content creator mindset. You will help us create powerful tools which allow multiple game teams to make an impact and to ship excellent games.
You will
- Become a power-user of Frostbite’s physics tools to help guide tool development, and support game teams in creating interactive, responsive environments with scalable performance
- Help establish and document best practices for high quality physics, collision, destruction.
- 2+ years of experience developing and shipping games with performant, dynamic physics and an understanding of the technical requirements needed to achieve those results.
- Collaboration with large teams across multiple studios and time zones.
- Bonus
- Knowledge of visual scripting, Lua, Python, or like languages
- Past experience contributing to at least two game titles as a physics specialist.
