How will you make an impact?

McGraw Hill is looking for an HR Business Partner, Specialist to join our Human Resources team.

In this position, you will play a critical role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives. You’ll serve as an advisor to managers on human resource related issues, acting as an employee champion and change agent. This position requires strong stakeholder engagement, a deep understanding of HR practices, and the ability to translate business needs into HR solutions. You will be joining a collaborative, cross-functional HR team. You will work closely with the HR Centers of Excellence, HR Operations and HR Technology.

This role reports to the Senior Director, HR Business Partner and works remotely from a home office. This role travels to meetings 3-4 times per year. The ideal candidate will be located in tri-state area. Candidates must reside and be eligible to work within the United States.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work in close collaboration with Sr. Director, HRBP to execute HR initiatives.
  • Partner with managers to understand objectives and align HR strategies with short and long-term goals.
  • Support workforce planning and onboarding initiatives in collaboration with Talent Acquisition teams. New hire check-in.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews for all voluntary departures and analyze data.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management issues.
  • Coach managers on effective people management, performance feedback, and development planning.
  • Awareness of all HR Policies.
  • Analyze HR metrics (i.e. turnover, engagement scores) to provide data-driven insights to improve business outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and be a champion of MH culture.
  • Collaborate with COEs in areas like Talent Development, Compensation and HR Ops to deliver integrated HR solutions to improve business outcomes.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of HR experience including solid understanding of HR best practices; HR generalist experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relation-building skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to use data for decision-making.
  • Initiative, attention to detail, independent and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Coaching and influencing skills.
  • Proficiency with WorkDay, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with WorkDay and an understanding of compensation practices are preferred.
  • SHRM-CP certification or equivalent certification are preferred.

The pay range for this position is between $85,000 - $100,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
