Senior Data Scientist

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise to shape and deliver generative AI solutions across multiple industries and business domains.

In this role, you will use your advanced machine learning skills to solve challenging problems for EPAM’s clients, applying cutting-edge AI and data science approaches to a variety of data types such as text, images, and video. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers, researchers, and product specialists, driving generative AI initiatives from concept to real-world impact.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize business opportunities where generative AI can make a measurable difference
• Develop, test, and enhance novel generative AI models and techniques
• Analyze the performance and value of generative AI solutions in operational environments
• Monitor scientific developments and incorporate relevant findings into project plans
• Create and assess generative AI products that address specific client needs
• Partner with machine learning engineers throughout all phases of solution development
• Work alongside product managers and stakeholders to establish clear generative AI goals and applications
• Present technical and business results to stakeholders in an accessible manner

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in Data Science, with a focus on building generative models including LLMs, GANs, VAEs, or Diffusion models
• Hands-on experience in computer vision and natural language processing, working with multimodal data such as images, text, and audio
• Proven track record with OpenAI GPT-x and model fine-tuning
• Ability to write efficient, maintainable, and production-ready code following best practices
• High-level proficiency in Python
• Experience with at least one major deep learning framework, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Background in optimizing and deploying deep learning models for production use
• Experience with at least one cloud platform, including AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
• English fluency at B2+ level or above

Nice to have

• Familiarity with other generative AI architectures and emerging technologies
• Knowledge of reinforcement learning and self-supervised learning strategies
• Experience with MLOps tools and workflows for deploying and maintaining AI models
