Our Programme and Project Management team provides professional services across a wide range of strategic and complex projects in many sectors including Water, Industry, Transport, Energy, Infrastructure, Property, Local Government, Sports, Media, and Workplace.
Some of the professional services we deliver to our clients include: Programme and Project management; Programme / Project Management Office (PMO); Business Transformation; Process Improvement; and Project Controls on complex building & infrastructure projects often, but not exclusively, as part of a multidisciplinary Arup service offering.
Whether design and construction related, or business strategy and improvement related, our multi-disciplinary approach ensures we provide our clients with consistent, high quality, tailored solutions to meet their complex requirements, which we deliver through our projects and programmes. Skilled at articulating the need and gathering requirements; defining the baseline scope; managing the successful delivery whilst ensuring that budgets and schedules are respected; and transitioning the outputs to end users, Arup Programme & Project Managers are the glue that holds project teams together throughout the lifecycle. Our Midlands-based PPM team across Birmingham and Nottingham is diverse, vibrant, and growing.
The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established yet growing PPM team with a portfolio of programmes and projects across the Transport, Water, Local Government, and Energy sectors, to name a few. The team are closeknit, social, and supportive.
In your first 18-24 months as a graduate, you will be provided with opportunities to contribute to multiple projects, in varying project management and controls roles, across different sectors, equipping you with an appreciation of the diversity of PPM roles and specialisms available. You will be encouraged to identify the aspects that stimulate you and to pursue your passions.
Professional development and recognition is crucial to your career journey, and you will be supported in preparing a professional development plan that plots your path to becoming a Chartered Project Professional.
Is this role right for you?
We are looking for individuals with a bachelor's degree (or higher level) in a relevant engineering, science, commercial, project management or relevant STEM degree.

- Demonstrable skills in communication and stakeholder management, critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and collaboration, analytical and decision-making, and adaptability and resilience
- Employment and academic experience in which some of the above skills have been demonstrated (it is not essential that this is through an industry placement)
