An innovative defence technology company is seeking a Senior Corporate Security Engineer to join its Security team in Sydney. This team plays a key role in protecting corporate infrastructure and users against sophisticated adversaries using state-of-the-art tooling.


The successful candidate will be responsible for improving and automating corporate security solutions, deploying new controls across endpoints, and collaborating with IT and Detection & Response teams to ensure strong visibility and rapid incident response. The role also involves influencing security across office networks, data centres, and remote access infrastructure, while providing leadership on corporate security strategy.


This is a hands-on engineering role suited to professionals who combine deep technical expertise with strong communication and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Automate and deploy security controls across corporate infrastructure.
  • Own vulnerability management end-to-end, ensuring timely mitigation of CVEs.
  • Respond to security incidents involving internal systems and networks.
  • Lead the corporate security strategy, including controls on endpoints, office networks, and remote access.
  • Collect and analyse metrics, identify patterns, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT and Detection & Response to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
  • Report key security metrics to leadership and influence cross-product decision making.


Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT or security engineering roles (e.g. IT Engineer, SysAdmin, Security Engineer).
  • Strong, hands-on technical background — comfortable building and implementing solutions.
  • Proficiency with Windows, MacOS, and Linux environments.
  • Experience with MDM/MAM solutions and secure remote access approaches.
  • Background in system hardening and reducing attack surface.
  • Scripting/automation skills in Python or Go.
  • Strong Linux command line skills and experience with threat modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts.


Desirable

  • Experience with XDR platforms.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset and systems thinking approach.
  • Previous experimentation with LLMs for automation in security workflow.
