About GetCartly
We’re building a grocery-tech startup that turns any recipe into a ready-to-pay supermarket cart, with instant price comparisons across stores. Our mission is simple: make grocery shopping faster, smarter, and more affordable.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a strong full-stack engineer with a passion for problem-solving and web automation. The first big challenge: figuring out how to technically add products into supermarket carts (like Rimi or Barbora) where public APIs don’t exist. For example: mapping ingredients to multiple SKUs, handling weight-based products (e.g. bananas sold by kg), and simulating cart interactions reliably.
You’ll work closely with the founder and a backend engineer. Your role is to own the cart automation layer — the piece that makes the whole GetCartly vision possible.
What you’ll do
- Reverse-engineer store flows (product pages, cart endpoints, session handling)
- Build reliable cart drivers (browser extension, headless automation, or hybrid approach)
- Implement logic for quantities and substitutions when products are unavailable
- Design a structure that can be extended to multiple supermarkets
- Deliver working MVP flows to test with real users
Must-haves
- Strong full-stack experience (backend + frontend fundamentals)
- Hands-on experience with web automation / browser scripting (Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium, or similar)
- Ability to debug network traffic, parse JSON/XHR responses, and handle sessions/cookies
- Problem-solver who enjoys building prototypes and iterating fast
- Based in, or able to collaborate in, the EU timezone
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building Chrome extensions or client-side scripts
- Familiarity with e-commerce product catalogs and APIs
- Prior startup / MVP experience
Why join us?
- Early-stage, ownership role — your work will be the product
- Flexible compensation (salary + equity negotiable)
- Opportunity to shape the future of grocery shopping from day one
