About The Role
We seek a proactive, motivated, and eager-to-learn professional to join Ferrovial’s Digital Hub team as a Junior AI-Driven Engineer. If you're unfamiliar with the term “AI-Driven Engineer,”, don’t worry about it, you'll learn all about it with us and you’ll be part of the transformation the software development lifecycle is experiencing.
The Digital Hub is where digital products with AI are built and, at the same time, where digital products are built with AI to support the transformation and optimization of business processes across Ferrovial’s business units (Airports, Construction, Energy, and Highways).
As a member of our team, your mission will be to actively enable software makers across the organization in developing new production-grade digital products using AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, test, and share AI best practices for software components.
- Encourage teams to use AI in designing, building, testing, and deploying digital products.
- Support makers in developing digital products using AI.
- Collaborate with other areas to ensure AI-powered products are production-ready.
- Stay updated on emerging AI trends, tools, and technologies to recommend innovative approaches for product development.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops to upskill team members in software development using AI.
- Monitor the performance and accuracy of deployed AI-engineering practices and tools, ensuring continuous improvement and reliability.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of AI-engineering strategy and roadmap for the organization.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- Desire to Learn: A strong motivation to continuously acquire new knowledge and skills.
- Positive Attitude: An enthusiastic and proactive approach to challenges and opportunities.
- Foundational Software Engineering Skills: Basic understanding of software development principles and practices.
- Insatiable Curiosity and Drive to Explore New Technologies: Passion for staying updated and experimenting with emerging tools and trends.
- Proactivity: Willingness to take initiative and act decisively, preferring to ask forgiveness rather than permission—always with sound judgment.
- Resilience: Persistence in problem-solving—when something doesn’t work, you investigate, experiment, and iterate until you find a solution.
- Team Spirit: Recognizing that success is built on collaboration and collective effort.
- Demonstrable Projects: Experience with personal or academic projects, including verifiable code contributions.
- Professional-level English (minimum C1), able to communicate clearly in writing and speech.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly express ideas and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
