Senior PHP Web Developer
Hybrid in Michigan
$120,000 - $130,000
Seeking a Senior PHP Web Developer with 5+ years of experience to manage custom PHP / Symfony applications, oversee MySQL and MongoDB environments, while driving continuous improvement in an iterative development setting.
Must Haves / Mandatory:
- 5+ years of professional experience in PHP development, with hands-on experience in Symfony or similar frameworks.
- Proven experience managing MySQL and MongoDB databases and maintaining server environments.
- Experience working in continuous integration (CI) and iterative development workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and debugging skills across both backend and server systems.
Nice to Have / Preferred:
- Experience with CMS platforms or custom homegrown applications.
- Knowledge of API integrations and cloud hosting (AWS, Azure, or similar).
- Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for minor UI adjustments.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
- Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of custom PHP / Symfony applications, ensuring high performance, security, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage and optimize server environments and databases (MySQL, MongoDB), including backups, indexing, deployment, and troubleshooting to maintain uptime and reliability.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, iterative development practices, and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline workflows and enhance code quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver feature enhancements, technical solutions, and iterative improvements, while contributing to code reviews, documentation, and mentoring of junior developers.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize both application code and server performance to meet evolving technical and organizational objectives.
