Loaf Markets is building the liquidity platform to trade all that was once illiquid - beginning with ultra-luxury property ($10-$100m). With institutional-grade liquidity systems developed in-house by quants from Citadel, we're creating infrastructure that makes traditionally inaccessible, illiquid assets tradable by anyone, anywhere, without the friction that's kept these markets locked up for centuries.

The Role

We're seeking exceptional Blockchain Engineers with deep expertise in EVM-compatible chains and smart contract architecture to build Loaf's tokenisation and settlement layer. You'll be architecting the on-chain infrastructure that bridges our high-performance C++ matching engine with Base L2, enabling instant settlement of token trades through a hybrid exchange model.

This isn't just another DeFi protocol - you're building the financial rails that unlock liquidity in $10-$50m properties and beyond. Your work will enable fractional ownership, instant settlement, and global accessibility for asset classes that have never been liquid before.

You'll be part of building:

• Settlement Engine contracts: EIP-712 order signing schema with atomic swap execution connecting off-chain matching to on-chain settlement on Base L2
• Property Token Factory: Smart contract system for deploying ERC-20 property tokens with metadata, access controls, and compliance mechanisms
• USDL stablecoin infrastructure: Permissioned ERC-20 pegged 1:1 to USD, backed by USDC, with mint/burn mechanics and reserve management
• Account abstraction (ERC-4337): Smart contract wallets with Privy session keys for gasless transactions, multi-sig functionality, and social recovery
• Primary sales contracts: Token distribution system for initial property offerings with sale configuration and settlement logic
• Upgradeable architecture: Proxy patterns (UUPS) for future contract iterations while maintaining state

What we're looking for:

• 2+ years building production Solidity smart contracts on EVM chains (Base, Optimism, Arbitrum preferred)
• Settlement & trading infrastructure: Experience with order matching, DEX architecture, or trading settlement contracts
• EIP-712 signed orders: Understanding of off-chain signing and on-chain verification patterns
• Security-first mindset: Deep knowledge of vulnerabilities and secure coding patterns for audit-ready contracts

Bonus Experience

• TypeScript/Node.js: Full-stack integration to connect smart contracts with backend matching engine
• Account abstraction (ERC-4337) and session key implementations
• Stablecoin architecture and reserve backing systems
• Fireblocks or institutional custody API integration
• Layer 2 optimization for Base or Optimism
• Upgradeable contract patterns in production
• Experience with hybrid CEX/DEX models

Compensation

• $150k - $230k
