The Opportunity
As a Data Analyst in our Finance division, you will be responsible for transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across the organization. Additionally, you will create, update and maintain comprehensive and high-quality reports leveraging La Trobe Financials’ data visualisation systems.
You will interact with stakeholders across the business to create hypotheses, translate data into meaningful / actionable insights, and occasionally create compelling presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Partnering closely with stakeholders to understand and accurately capture their analytics and reporting requirements
- Perform data validation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Create engaging dashboards, metrics, and reports in a variety of platforms and reporting products including but not limited to Excel, Tableau and PowerBI
- Run monthly, quarterly and yearly reports and analysis
- Undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify underlying drivers of impacting strategy, supporting strategic projects, and trends to focus development of future initiatives
- Engage with the tech team to drive data requirements and improvements
- Tracking data trends and anomalies to identify potential issues, and recommend possible corrections
About you
This role requires the successful applicant to possess 3-4 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence ideally within Financial Services. Additional qualification and experience required includes:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Statistics, Data Science or a similar discipline
- Experience working with cross-functional teams or working with different stakeholders
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
- Intermediate experience in SQL, PowerQuery and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with data platforms like Snowflake
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to turn large data sets into usable insights for the business
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team
- Ability to adapt, and work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible & agile mindset
