Collaborating closely with product and engineering teams, you will participate in technical decisions, code reviews, and paired development sessions. Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain performant, testable, and reusable code in Ruby and React/NextJS, contributing to large-scale software initiatives
- Collaborate with team members through paired programming and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality output
- Deploy user-facing code to production, ensuring reliability and performance
- Participate in technical decision-making to influence the architecture and future direction of software systems
- Work closely with product and engineering management to deliver features that solve user problems
- Maintain and enhance system components, including GraphQL APIs, event-driven architectures, and database integrations
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Ruby and React/NextJS; experience with Elixir is a plus
- Solid understanding of reusable components, component libraries, and building production-ready web applications
- Familiarity with programming tools and workflows: Git, RESTful APIs, IDEs, TypeScript, and remote deployment tools
- Experience with event-based architectures, databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB), and GraphQL
- Passion for testing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
