Software Engineer - Ruby & React (Latam)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer - Ruby & React in Latin America.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of high-quality, scalable, and user-facing software systems. You will work across both frontend and backend technologies, building production-ready applications that directly impact company-wide initiatives. Collaborating closely with product and engineering teams, you will participate in technical decisions, code reviews, and paired development sessions. This position offers opportunities to work with modern technologies such as Ruby, React, GraphQL, AWS, and Kafka, while continuously learning and innovating in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain performant, testable, and reusable code in Ruby and React/NextJS, contributing to large-scale software initiatives
• Collaborate with team members through paired programming and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality output
• Deploy user-facing code to production, ensuring reliability and performance
• Participate in technical decision-making to influence the architecture and future direction of software systems
• Work closely with product and engineering management to deliver features that solve user problems
• Maintain and enhance system components, including GraphQL APIs, event-driven architectures, and database integrations
  
  
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Ruby and React/NextJS; experience with Elixir is a plus
• Solid understanding of reusable components, component libraries, and building production-ready web applications
• Familiarity with programming tools and workflows: Git, RESTful APIs, IDEs, TypeScript, and remote deployment tools
• Experience with event-based architectures, databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB), and GraphQL
• Passion for testing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  
  
  

Preferred: Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Kafka, Storybook, CMS platforms (Prismic), microservices, eCommerce platforms, and mobile development (iOS/Android).
