Freelance DevOps Engineer - Kubernetes Containerization Project

We are seeking an experienced Freelance DevOps Engineer to join our team and contribute to a Kubernetes-based containerization project. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining containerized infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing deployments across cloud or hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes clusters for containerized workloads.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Containerize existing applications using Docker and optimize deployment strategies.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Helm, or Ansible.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure seamless application delivery.
• Implement and maintain security, scalability, and observability best practices (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
• Support continuous improvement and automation across deployment and operations processes.
• Document architectures, standards, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, upgrades, Helm, etc.).
• Expertise in Docker and container lifecycle management.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions).
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or Helm for infrastructure automation.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and networking.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CKA, CKAD, AWS/Azure DevOps Engineer) are a plus.

• DURATION: 12 months (with extensions)

• ONSITE POLICY: Antwerp (flexible remote working)
• HOURS PER WEEK: 40
• LANGUAGES: English and (Dutch or French)
